Gospel Singer, Big Bolaji Dies At 50

The family of Bolaji Olarewaju, widely known as Big Bolaji, has confirmed his passing after a short illness.

In an official statement released on Saturday, the family shared that Bolaji died on Easter Saturday, April 19, 2025.

“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bolaji Olarewaju, lovingly known as ‘Big B.’ He was a devoted father, husband, brother, ordained RCCG Pastor, and a respected figure in both the gospel music scene and the wider community,” the statement read.

“Bolaji passed away on Easter Saturday after a brief illness, leaving behind an irreplaceable void in our lives. His journey was defined by a deep love for music, steadfast faith, and a commitment to inspiring others. His legacy lives on not only in his songs but in the countless lives he impacted and the joy he spread wherever he went.”

The family expressed comfort in their faith, believing he is now with the Lord, and emphasized the enduring impact of his life.

They also requested privacy during this period of mourning and expressed gratitude for the love and support they’ve received.

Further details regarding funeral arrangements will be shared soon, as the family prepares to honor and celebrate Bolaji’s extraordinary life.
