Northern Governor Speaks On ‘Leaving’ APC

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has dismissed as false and malicious social media reports suggesting his potential defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join a coalition allegedly being formed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Idris, in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, described the reports as a “huge joke cracked by the most uninteresting political comedians.”

He stated that he would ordinarily ignore such baseless rumors, comparing them to “mad fellows dancing naked in the marketplace.”

However, for clarity, Governor Idris firmly declared that he is not a “political prostitute.”

He emphasized his strong allegiance to the APC, stating, “I am made in APC, by APC, and for APC,” and affirmed that he would never abandon his party for any coalition, regardless of its organizers.

The statement further highlighted that Governor Idris is deeply supported by the people of Kebbi State, who are overwhelmingly loyal to the APC. “He cannot and will not abandon his people to embrace political strangers,” the statement added.

Governor Idris urged the public to disregard the malicious report and reiterated his commitment to improving Kebbi State and supporting the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
