Wike, Ortom, Others Who Campaigned Against PDP Should Be Sacked – Lamido

Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has called for the expulsion of prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members, including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, and former Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Lamido insisted that the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) must sanction members who openly worked against the PDP during the 2023 elections.

He stated, “All those erring members, the Wikes, the Ortoms, the Ikpeazus and others, who openly campaigned against the PDP in the 2023 elections, and who say that they are going to work for APC in 2027, should be sacked from the party.”

The PDP stalwart expressed frustration over what he described as a “long-standing culture of impunity” within the party.

He explained that these members, driven by personal ambitions, “felt aggrieved about what transpired in the party’s convention… And they turned out against the party and fought the party.”

Lamido lamented that the party had tolerated this behavior for over 18 months, in breach of its constitution, stating, “In the constitution, if you breach the party’s code, you are sanctioned.”

As a result, Lamido revealed his decision to boycott meetings of the party’s Board of Trustees (BOT) until disciplinary action is taken against those who worked against the party.
