A viral video has “captured the moment social media critic, Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), and comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, better known as Mr Jollof, engaged in a physical fight aboard a commercial flight,” as fellow passengers, including comedian Funny Bone, “scrambled to separate them.”
The footage, shared by Facebook user Dr Paul Ezikel on Monday, “showed the duo trading blows inside a United Nigeria Airlines flight reportedly travelling from Asaba, Delta State, to Lagos.”
VDM and Mr Jollof “have a history of online clashes, with tensions escalating after VDM accused the comedian’s wife of having affairs with internet fraudsters, a claim that sparked widespread controversy.”
Reacting to the incident, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Michael Achimugu, in a statement on X, “requested details to aid an investigation.”
He wrote: “If you are kind enough to provide the name of the airline in whose aircraft this incident occurred, and the date, it would help investigations.”
