APC Names Uzodimma Chairman Of National Convention Committee

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially selected Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), to lead its 73-member Central Coordination Committee for the 2026 National Convention.

The ruling party made the announcement through a post on its official X handle, naming Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, who serves as the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), as the vice chairman of the panel. Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State was also appointed to serve as the secretary of the high-level committee.

The committee features a robust lineup of current leadership, including all APC governors, the President and Deputy President of the Senate, and the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

It also encompasses all principal officers from both chambers of the National Assembly who are members of the party.

In a move to incorporate seasoned experience, the party included all former national chairmen of APC; all former presidents and deputy presidents of Senate; speakers and deputy speakers of the House of Representatives and principal officers of National who belong to the party as members of the coordination team.

The APC management noted that the official inauguration of the 73-member panel will occur at a date that is “yet-to-be announced.”
