Tinubu Meets Remaining PDP Governor In North East Hours After Fintiri’s Defection

On Friday, President Bola Tinubu held a meeting with the sole remaining Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor within the North East zone.

This high-level encounter took place just hours following the announcement that Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State had abandoned the PDP to join the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).

As a result of Fintiri’s political shift, the APC has successfully consolidated its influence over nearly the entire North East.

With this development, the states of Borno, Gombe, Yobe, Taraba, and Adamawa are now under the administration of the APC, leaving Bauchi as the only state in the region still controlled by the PDP.
