Governor Soludo Sacks All Political Appointees

Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has ordered all political appointees to vacate their positions and hand over their duties with immediate effect.

This directive comes just 24 hours after his inauguration for a second term in office.

The instruction was detailed in a circular issued on Wednesday by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nwabufor Nwankwo.

According to the document, all affected officials are required to hand over to their respective Permanent Secretaries or, where unavailable, the most senior civil servants within their Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The circular emphasized that the transition must be finalized by the end of the business day, stating: “I am directed to inform all political appointees to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries or the most senior civil servant in the various MDAs on or before the close of work today, until a new cabinet is constituted.”

In addition to the dissolution, the government has summoned all members of the first-term cabinet to a meeting with the Governor. This session is scheduled for March 23 at 10 am at the Anambra State Executive Council Chambers.
