‘The Road Ahead Is Long’ – Atiku Reacts To Supreme Court Ruling On ADC Leadership Tussle

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has declared that the battle for Nigeria’s opposition is still very much alive, even after the Supreme Court confirmed David Mark’s leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Shortly after the apex court’s ruling, Atiku cautioned his followers against becoming too comfortable, noting that significant effort is still required to “rescue” the nation.

In a statement shared on his official social media accounts, the presidential aspirant called the court’s decision a major milestone but made it clear it was not the end of the journey.

“Even as we welcome the Supreme Court’s firm affirmation of David Mark and the leadership of our great party, the African Democratic Congress, let no one be lulled into complacency. The road ahead remains long in our cause to take back and rescue our country,” he stated.

He added, “This victory belongs to Nigerians, the courageous millions who refuse to surrender their future. We thank them, and we urge them to remain steadfast, because the struggle is far from over.”

The former Vice President also urged citizens to stay alert, reminding them that democratic progress requires constant focus and unity.

He concluded by saying, “As we press on, let this truth guide us: eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.”
