The Gombe State Police Command has officially debunked viral social media reports alleging that the residence of Nafiu Bala, a factional national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), was burnt down.
The police categorized the claims as entirely unfounded and deceptive.
In a press release distributed on Thursday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, clarified that no such event has taken place within the state.
“The command confirms that the report is false, as no such incident has been recorded anywhere in the state,” Abdullahi stated.
Furthermore, Commissioner of Police CP Umar Ahmed Chuso called on the general public to ignore the rumors and maintain order.
He reiterated the police force’s dedication to protecting lives and property. According to the statement, “The Commissioner of Police, Gombe State Command, CP Umar Ahmed Chuso, urges members of the public to disregard this misinformation and remain calm, as the command remains committed to ensuring peace and security across Gombe State.”
