Suspected Cultist, ‘Obasanjo’ Killed In Lagos Attack

A suspected cult member known as Obasanjo was killed in the Egbeda area of Lagos State on Wednesday, marking a fresh wave of cult-related violence.

The attack occurred near the Lion of Judah area at Okunola bus stop, just days after similar violence in Yaba and Isolo.

Sources indicated that the victim, who was reportedly affiliated with the Eiye Confraternity, had recently been released from a correctional center.

He was allegedly under the influence of drugs when he was intercepted by suspected members of the rival Aye Confraternity.

This killing follows other violent outbreaks earlier in the week. On Monday, a man identified as Elubu was shot near Yaba College of Technology.

While witnesses feared he had died after being pursued and shot at close range at a tricycle park, he reportedly survived and was taken to a hospital.

Additionally, another suspected cultist known as Kalou was killed near Isolo Market on Monday in what appeared to be a revenge attack following the death of an individual named Adeola.

The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command, Femi Adeoye, confirmed the Egbeda killing and stated that investigations are underway.

He noted that several suspects are already in custody, saying, “investigations had commenced,” and adding that authorities are working to “curb cult-related violence in the state.”
