Reports indicate that the police have taken two individuals into custody, including the person from Bayelsa State who allegedly sent the Beretta pistol and four rounds of ammunition that led to the death of Oghenemine Ogidi.

The victim, a 28-year-old known as Mine, was killed by ASP Nuhu Usman in Effurun, Delta State.

According to a source, the two suspects were transported to the Effurun Area Command under the Delta State Police Command on Wednesday night.

Investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest everyone involved in the transportation of the firearm and the subsequent killing.

While police authorities have not yet officially commented on the situation, a source informed Vanguard, “It’s confirmed. They just brought in two suspects Wednesday night.”

The source further elaborated on the identity of the detainees, stating, “It’s not been announced who is who yet, but I can tell you for free that one of them is the person who sent the gun through a transport line from Yenagoa to Effurun, from where Mine picked it to send to a Sapele owner at the Effurun Motor Park where he was caught and extrajudicially killed by ASP Nuhu and accomplices.”

The source added that while the identity of the second individual remains uncertain, the primary sender is confirmed to be in custody.

“Like I sad, it’s not clear if the other person among the two could be the driver who brought the parcel from Yenagoa. But it’s clear that the sender is among the duo just apprehended. And the trail continues for the other suapects,” the source noted.
