The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has refused to clarify whether Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, underwent the formal screening process at the party’s ongoing governorship aspirants exercise.
This development further heightens the uncertainty surrounding the governor’s political future as his long-standing feud with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, continues.
On Sunday, the APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, avoided providing a direct answer when reporters questioned if Mr. Fubara had successfully completed the screening for the Rivers State governorship primary.
Speaking after the conclusion of the exercise, Mr. Basiru stated that the screening committee had finished its interactions with all aspirants who appeared before it and noted that the committee would submit its report in due course.
