Results Of Senatorial Primary Election Contested By Shehu Sani Emerge

Senator Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Kaduna Central Senatorial District, defeating two other contestants by a significant margin.

The returning officer for the primary, Barr. Samira Ibrahim, announced that Sani gathered 9,105 votes to secure the party’s senatorial ticket in Kaduna State.

Based on the official results, the former Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yusuf Zailani, recorded 1,021 votes, while activist and politician Yerima Shettima obtained 1,253 votes.

Barr. Ibrahim noted that the primary election took place peacefully and followed the guidelines of the party.

“With the total votes collated, Senator Shehu Sani, having scored the highest number of votes cast, is hereby declared winner of the APC Kaduna Central senatorial district primary election,” she said.
