Ex-Chief Of Staff To ‎APC National Chairman Joins NDC After Losing 2027 Ticket

Mustapha Bala Dawaki, the former Chief of Staff to APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has dumped the ruling party for the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).

Dawaki, a former federal lawmaker who previously represented the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa constituency of Kano State in the House of Representatives, made the switch to the opposition party just a week after missing out on his return ticket due to a consensus arrangement within the APC.

Saifullahi Hassan, a media aide to Kwankwasiyya leader and prominent NDC stakeholder Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, confirmed the political move on Monday. He noted that the defection was finalized at Kwankwaso’s residence located along Miller Road in Kano.

Taking to his verified Facebook page, Kwankwaso’s aide shared:“Leader [Kwankwaso] has today accepted the former Chief of Staff to the APC national Chairman, Mustapha Bala Dawaki (Mai Gidan Ruwa) to the NDC Kwankwasiyya,”

This development unfolds just as the NDC is in the middle of selecting its own candidates across Kano State through consensus arrangements.

However, it remains unconfirmed whether Dawaki has been promised an automatic ticket to run for his former legislative seat under his new party.
