APC Appoints Uba Sani, Akpabio, Bamidele, Others To Campaign Council [FULL LIST]

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled the inauguration of its National Campaign Council for the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election.

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani will lead the council, with Senate President Godswill Akpabio serving as co-chairman.

The group is responsible for overseeing the party’s mobilization and campaign strategies for the election, which is set by the Independent National Electoral Commission for June 20, 2026.

APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, announced that the inauguration will take place on Wednesday in Abuja. Morka described this event as a critical move in the party’s strategy to initiate statewide mobilization and ensure a victory.

In his official statement, Morka noted, “The All Progressives Congress will formally inaugurate its National Campaign Council for the forthcoming Ekiti State Governorship Election as follows: Date: Wednesday, June 10, 2026; venue: Kashim Shettima Hall, Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja. Time: 12 noon.”

The council’s leadership team also includes Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, who will serve as secretary.

The body consists of various party leaders, including former and current governors and National Assembly members.

Regarding their mandate, the statement read, “The National Campaign Council, chaired by Governor Uba Sani, has the President of the Senate, Godswill Obot Akpabio, as Co-Chairman, and Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele as Secretary. The council, comprised of serving and former governors, principal officers of the National Assembly, and other eminent party leaders, is tasked with coordinating and driving the party’s campaign activities ahead of the Ekiti State governorship election.”

To facilitate these efforts, the party has established several subcommittees. As outlined by Morka, “To ensure effective planning and campaign coordination, various subcommittees have been constituted to lead the party’s activities in key areas, including Election Planning and Management; Finance and Resource Mobilisation; Grassroots Engagement and Mobilisation; Logistics and Campaign Management; Protocol; Media and Publicity; Security; Women’s Mobilisation; Youth Mobilisation; and Secretariat Functions.”
