A number of Accord Party members suffered various injuries on Wednesday when a podium collapsed during a campaign event in Ijebu-Jesa, located in the Ori-Ade Local Government Area of Osun State.
The gathering, which aimed to inaugurate the re-election canvassers for Governor Ademola Adeleke, was attended by the Governor, his sister, Chief Modupe Adeleke-Sani, and the Chief of Staff, Kazeem Akinleye.
Footage of the event shared on social media captured the moment the platform failed under the weight of the occupants.
Aside from the high-profile officials, others on the stage included party supporters, security personnel, and the spokesperson for the governor’s re-election campaign, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi.
