Kwara Governor Sacks Special Advisers, Others

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has initiated a significant cabinet reshuffle, approving the removal of all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants.

The changes also extend to the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary.

The announcement was made on Monday by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mashood Agboola, who characterized the development as a minor cabinet shake-up.

“Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved a minor cabinet shake-up involving all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants,” the statement read.

According to the official communication, the primary objective of this decision is to create opportunities for a wider range of members from the ruling party to contribute to the administration, while simultaneously injecting renewed energy into the government.

The Governor expressed his appreciation for the contributions made by the outgoing appointees during their time in office and wished them well in their future pursuits.

To ensure a smooth transition, the administration has directed all affected officials to immediately hand over any government property in their possession to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.

This reshuffle is a strategic move by the AbdulRazaq administration aimed at reconstituting parts of its governance team and broadening political participation within the state government.
