FG Extends NYSC Orientation Camp To Six Weeks, Scraps Military Drills

In a significant move to modernize the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), the Federal Government has announced a sweeping reform package.

Central to these changes is the extension of the orientation programme from the traditional three weeks to six weeks, reflecting a shift toward a more intensive developmental curriculum.

As part of this comprehensive restructuring, the scheme will discontinue military drills and parade activities during the orientation phase.

Furthermore, the conventional “Passing Out Parade” will be replaced by a formalized graduation ceremony, signaling a transition toward a more professional, career-oriented experience for participants.

To coincide with this new era for the organization, a redesigned NYSC uniform will be introduced to embody a sense of renewed identity and professional pride.
