Ladipo Johnson, a spokesperson for Rabiu Kwankwaso, has revealed that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), is displeased with the emerging leadership crisis within the OK Movement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Johnson acknowledged that internal friction has surfaced within the political group.
However, he characterized the conflict as a temporary distraction rather than a fatal blow to their political ambitions, warning that the dispute is diverting attention away from consolidating the movement’s grassroot structures across the country.
According to him, the fallout stems from grievances between certain members and the executive leadership of the movement.
He cautioned stakeholders against taking actions capable of dividing supporters of the proposed Obi-Kwankwaso alliance and weakening their push for a strong political alternative in 2027.
Johnson added that Obi had been briefed on the situation and expressed dissatisfaction over the internal squabbles.
“Yes, we have, may I call it a distraction at the moment. It is not such, in my own humble opinion, that would lead you to take unilateral actions that could possibly scuttle or bring bad blood within the support base of the person you purportedly want to become the president of the country.
“I saw the presidential candidate last night along with the DG. He’s not happy about the whole situation,” Johnson said.
