Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, on Saturday declared that the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is overhyped and overrated.
Onanuga, who characterized Obi as clueless, recalled that the presidential aspirant performed poorly during his tenure as governor of Anambra State.
In a post shared on X, the presidential aide dismissed claims regarding Obi’s potential performance as Nigeria’s leader, emphasizing that his followers incorrectly expect him to work miracles.
Onanuga wrote: “Peter Obi is simply overhyped and overrated. The guy is clueless. As Anambra governor, he was a spectacular failure.”
Criticizing expectations surrounding the opposition candidate’s presidential ambition, he added: “Now gunning for a higher office, his supporters think he can perform a miracle. How? Governance is not by magic.”
Faulting Obi’s political consistency and leadership track record, Onanuga stated: “A wannabe national leader must have a governance pedigree, which Peter lacks. He changes his positions like a chameleon. And his worldview is dictated by his mob on social media.”
