The retail price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), commonly known as cooking gas, trades between ₦1,300 and ₦1,400 per kilogram across gas plants and retail refill stations in Nigeria as of Monday, September 28, 2026.

Following recent price movements in mid-September, accredited gas plants are dispensing a kilogram for around ₦1,300/kg, while smaller plants and neighborhood retailers in outlying locations sell between ₦1,350/kg and ₦1,400/kg.

The current cost to refill standard household cylinders stands as follows:

5kg Refill: ₦6,500 – ₦7,000
6kg Refill: ₦7,800 – ₦8,400

At the wholesale level, 20 metric tonnes (20MT) of LPG traded around ₦20 million to ₦22.7 million at major Lagos coastal depots—including Ardova, Stockgap, and Panocean—driven by international benchmark adjustments and local depot supply logistics.
