Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North, revealed that he earns a total of N14 million monthly as a senator.
During his appearance on Channels Television’s *Politics Today* on Thursday, he dismissed the notion that lawmakers are living in luxury while the general population struggles with poverty.

“I earn N14 million for everything in a month. That is everything encompassing, the overhead, the worker’s salary, everybody,” Uzor-Kalu said.
Uzor Kalu, a former governor of Abia State, argued that the N14 million he earns is insufficient to cover expenses such as fueling his travel to his constituency and maintaining his constituency office, among other costs.
