Hamza Samaila Surudubu, a suspected arms dealer providing weapons to terrorists in North-West Nigeria, including the infamous bandit leader Bello Turji, has been apprehended.
Col Ahmed Usman (retd), the Special Adviser to the Sokoto State Governor on security, confirmed the arrest.
According to Usman, Surudubu, a 35-year-old ammunition carrier, was arrested on February 20, 2025, by the Sokoto State Community Guard Corps (SSCGC) in the Isa Division, along Shinkafi Road, with assistance from the Civilian JTF.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Surudubu was en route to deliver weapons to Turji, Boka, and Halilu Buzu.
The case has been handed over to security agencies for further investigation.
Additionally, Sokoto State lawmaker, Honourable Aminu Almustapha Boza, confirmed that bandit leader Bello Turji is currently operating in the forests of Isa Local Government Area in Sokoto State.
The lawmaker reported that Turji has been extorting tax from locals, imposing a ₦25 million levy on villages in the Isa and Sabon Birni areas.
Boza has called for increased security operations to combat banditry in the region.
