President Tinubu, who recently returned from a 19-day working visit to Europe, is expected to receive updates from his security and intelligence leaders on the ongoing violence and bloodshed in various regions and states.

Specifically, the meeting addresses the escalating security crisis in Plateau and Benue states, where suspected foreign herders have carried out deadly attacks, resulting in hundreds of deaths and the displacement of thousands.

Reports of other criminal activities across the country have also heightened concerns both domestically and internationally.

While it is unclear if other security and intelligence chiefs are participating in the meeting, given its location at the President’s residence, it is anticipated that the discussions will focus on strategies to provide relief to the affected areas.
