On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu submitted a ₦1.48 trillion budget proposal for the Rivers State Government to the National Assembly for approval.
The President stated that this budget was necessary due to the Supreme Court’s nullification of the state’s 2025 budget and because Rivers State is currently under emergency rule.

The proposed budget allocates ₦324 billion for infrastructure, ₦166 billion for health, ₦75.6 billion for education, and ₦31.4 billion for agriculture.
President Tinubu added that the agriculture sector is expected to create approximately 6,000 jobs and urged Parliament to swiftly pass the budget for the benefit of the state and its residents.
