The All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to speculation that Rabiu Kwankwaso, the national leader of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), is planning to defect to the ruling party.
Speaking in an interview with Channels Television on Sunday, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, stated that there have been no discussions about Kwankwaso joining.

When asked about the possibility of the former Kano State governor jumping ship, Morka said, “The party I speak for has said nothing about Kwankwaso possibly joining.” He added, “We have not made that determination and are not able to make it at the moment.”
Morka also dismissed claims of internal issues affecting the party’s operations, saying that the party is running smoothly and that people are free to express their opinions.
“The party is running as it should. People are entitled to have their moments, but that does not indicate dysfunction,” he stated.
