PDP BoT Member, Waziri, Defects To ADC

Adamu Waziri, a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a Board of Trustees member, has officially resigned from the party and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Waziri announced his decision on Monday at his Dogo Tebo Ward in Potiskum, Yobe State, emphasizing that the move aligns with the PDP’s constitution, which mandates formal resignation at the ward level.

Explaining his departure, Waziri stated that the PDP no longer embodies the values of a credible opposition. “I was a member of PDP, and due to the exigencies of the moment and in the interest of the nation, I have decided to resign,” he said.

He urged his followers to join him in backing a new political movement aimed at strengthening democracy and improving governance.

Waziri described his decision as difficult but necessary, asserting that the current PDP leadership has lost its direction.

In a significant development, Malam Muhammad Bomai, the PDP Ward Chairman, who represented the local leadership, accepted Waziri’s resignation with regret, acknowledging him as a “pillar of the party.”

Bomai then announced his own immediate resignation from the PDP and defection to the ADC, stating that he shares Waziri’s vision for a better Nigeria.
