AON Considering Ambassadorial Role For Ibom Air Passenger – Keyamo

The Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has announced that the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) is considering an ambassadorial role for Comfort Emmanson to promote good passenger conduct.

This follows her recent release after the complaint against her was withdrawn.

Keyamo explained the ambassadorial roles, which have also been extended to Fuji star Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1), as a form of “community service.”

In a statement on his X handle, he clarified that the roles are “not paid for, and it is a voluntary service.”

He addressed public criticism that the decisions were a double standard, stating that the government has been “fair to all.”

Regarding Emmanson, Keyamo said, “in my discussion last night with the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), they are also looking at the option of using Ms. Comfort Emmanson, who has also shown remorse, as their own Ambassador for good passenger conduct.”

He added that it is up to the AON to work out the details.

For KWAM 1, who was involved in an incident at the Abuja airport on August 5, Keyamo said the role is in line with the practice of making a “repentant offender” preach against the conduct they have repented of.

He added that the word “ambassador” in this context is not “a big position that comes with the perquisites of office.”
