NCAA Meets Comfort Emmanson, Ibom Air Crew Members [PHOTOS]

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced it held a meeting with passenger Comfort Emmanson, who was involved in an altercation with Ibom Air crew members during a flight from Uyo to Lagos.

The agency’s spokesman, Michael Achimugu, disclosed the meeting on his official X handle on Thursday, posting, “NCAA has held a meeting with Comfort Emanson, the Ibom Air passenger.”

He noted that Emmanson was accompanied by her lawyer but did not provide further details.

This meeting followed the agency’s earlier meeting on Wednesday with the crew members involved.

In a previous post, Achimugu had stated that “Yesterday [Thursday] in Abuja, the NCAA team met with Julie Edwards and other members of the crew involved in the Comfort Emanson incident as part of investigations into that event.”

He also confirmed that multiple directorates within the NCAA were “collaborating to ensure a proper conclusion to this investigation.”

The incident, which occurred on August 10, 2025, involved Emmanson and the airline’s crew.

She had “assaulted a flight attendant and was confrontational with security agents at the Lagos airport.”

A video of the confrontation went viral, and while many Nigerians faulted the passenger’s “aggressive display,” they also faulted a flight attendant who “was filmed to have blocked the passenger from disembarking.”

Following the incident, Emmanson was arrested, arraigned in court, and remanded in prison, but she was later released and the charges against her were dropped.
