The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that applications are now open for its “Direct Short Service Commission 34/2025.”
The announcement was made on the NAF’s official X handle on Tuesday, inviting people from a wide range of professions, including “engineering, medical, and cyber specialities.”

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship: Applicants “must be Nigerian citizens by birth.”
- Age: The age range is 20 to 32 years, though “Medical Doctors (consultants)” can be between “25 and 40 years.” The NAF specifies that “serving personnel above 32 years of age are not to apply.” A “serving personnel must be recommended by his/her Commanding Officer/Commander, must have served for 10 years and attained the rank of Cpl.”
- Height: Male applicants must be “not less than 1.66 m tall,” and female applicants must be “not less than 1.63 m tall.”
- Criminal Record: Applicants “must be free of any previous conviction(s) on criminal grounds by a court of law.”
- Health: All applicants “must be medically, physically and psychologically fit and must meet the Nigerian Air Force medical and employment standards.”
- Education: Candidates must have a minimum of a “Second Class Upper Division” and hold a “NYSC Discharge Certificate or Letter of Exemption.”
The NAF will hold a “Zonal General Aptitude Test” on a date to be announced on its recruitment portal. Only those who are successful will be invited for a “Selection Interview.”
