Engr. Dr. Yakubu Muhammad Kingsly (YMK) has formally entered the 2027 presidential race by picking up his nomination form from the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) headquarters in Abuja this Thursday.
Declaring his readiness to challenge incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, YMK stated that his ambition is driven by a “desire to ensure that things are done in the right way in Nigeria” and a commitment to improving the standard of living for all citizens.
Dr. Aliyu Abdullahi Jibia, the Director-General of the YMK Campaign Organisation, noted that this step is a “demonstration of seriousness and commitment to rebuilding the country.”

He explained that the PRP was chosen due to its ideology and its “long-standing commitment to the welfare of ordinary Nigerians and the less privileged.”
He further declared, “We have shown the world today that we are the Peoples Redemption Party, and we are going to contest on the platform of the party.”
Adding to the call for action, the National Women Leader for YMK, Dr. Maryam Ringim, urged women and supporters to ramp up grassroots mobilization and membership drives.
Highlighting that women are “critical stakeholders in political mobilisation,” she encouraged them to push the candidate toward victory.
She also promised that YMK would lead an inclusive government that would “prioritise women and youth empowerment” if he wins the 2027 election.
