Queen Atang, a former housemate of Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye, has caused a stir online following her appearance at the 12th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. She arrived on the red carpet wearing a themed costume designed to look like bread.
Attending as a guest, Queen used Instagram on Saturday to explain that her outfit choice was connected to her work in the food industry.
“AMVCA 2026 ready. I come as an entrepreneur who runs a bread EMPIRE,” she posted, referencing her bakery, @switcakes_desserts.
She stated the look was a deliberate nod to the theme of craftsmanship celebrated at the event.
Social media users expressed mixed reactions to her attire, with videos showing her adjusting the outfit and carrying a jug prop as she moved through the venue.
The AMVCA 12 red carpet featured various bold fashion choices from stars and influencers interpreting the themes of excellence and creativity.
The awards, hosted by MultiChoice, honor achievements in film and television across Africa. This edition includes 32 categories, consisting of 18 jury awards, 11 viewer-voted awards, and three special honors.
New regional categories for Best Indigenous Language Film in North and Central Africa were also added to increase continental representation and highlight diverse storytelling.
