The Nigeria Police Force has uncovered the identities of the suspected kidnappers behind the abduction of Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin boys.
Mrs John-Paul is the younger sister of the former Nigerian Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu.
The breakthrough came after a successful police raid where Mrs Adegoke and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, were rescued alive on Saturday.
Insiders within the police department revealed that operatives engaged the criminal gang in a fierce gun battle, neutralizing two of the suspected kidnappers on the spot.
Security forces also recovered two firearms from the scene.
The victims were initially seized by the gunmen on Tuesday morning while Mrs Adegoke was driving her children to school.
According to the police, it was a combination of continuous digital tracking, intense intelligence gathering, and tactical pressure that cornered the gang and forced the armed confrontation, leading to the safe recovery of the hostages.
Meanwhile, an online video showcasing the exact moments of the dramatic rescue operation and the release of Mrs Adegoke and her children has already gone viral on social media.
