The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has officially announced a downward review of the ex-depot prices for Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) and Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) in a bid to ease energy costs nationwide.
Under the updated pricing layout, the cost of petrol drops from N1,215 per litre down to N1,165, marking an N50 per litre reduction. Meanwhile, diesel has been slashed from N1,650 per litre to N1,570, reflecting an N80 decrease.
In an official statement released by the Dangote Group on Wednesday, the facility explained that the price adjustment is designed to boost energy affordability, expand access to petroleum products, and stimulate economic growth across Nigeria.
The refinery stressed that the initiative demonstrates its ongoing dedication to delivering “affordable, high-quality petroleum products to the Nigerian market.”
The company further emphasized its commitment to maintaining steady product availability while utilizing operational cost savings to create value for consumers, corporate clients, and stakeholders alike.
It noted that it will consistently pass down the advantages of enhanced operational efficiency whenever prevailing market conditions allow.
Highlighting its broader impact, the refinery stated that it continues to drive national energy security, minimize dependence on imported fuel, and foster economic development through the provision of world-class petroleum commodities.
The official statement detailed: “Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel), reaffirming its commitment to providing affordable, high-quality petroleum products to the Nigerian market.”
“Under the new pricing structure, the refinery has reduced the ex-depot price of PMS to N1,165 per litre, down from N1,215 per litre, representing a reduction of N50 per litre. Similarly, the ex-depot price of Diesel has been reduced to N1,570 per litre from N1,650 per litre, amounting to a decrease of N80 per litre.”
