As of Monday, August 10, 2026, the downstream petroleum market in Nigeria is experiencing a downward price adjustment following a recent reduction in ex-depot and gantry prices by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and major marketers.
The Dangote Refinery reduced its gantry price for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) by ₦50, moving it down to ₦1,165 per litre from ₦1,215, while private coastal depots in Lagos, Warri, Port Harcourt, and Calabar adjusted their terminals to trade between ₦1,165 and ₦1,195 per litre.
With independent marketers and major retail outlets rolling out products lifted under the updated pricing templates, retail pump prices have started reflecting slight decreases across different regions.
In Lagos and the South-West, major and independent retail stations are selling between ₦1,215 and ₦1,270 per litre, whereas outlets in Abuja and the North-Central hover between ₦1,265 and ₦1,299 per litre with further adjustments expected as fresh stock arrives.
Across the South-South, South-East, and Far North, pump prices generally range from ₦1,280 to ₦1,350+ per litre, varying based on transportation logistics and distribution costs from coastal depots.
