Public outrage has trailed a shocking video circulating online, which captures a man viciously lashing a young toddler repeatedly across the head and upper body.
In the disturbing footage shared on the platform X, the shirtless individual, dressed in green athletic shorts, is seen striking the minor with an object that appears to be a charger cable.
The forceful blows send the child crashing down onto a hard tiled floor, where the toddler breaks down in painful cries.
Refusing to stop, the assailant continues the assault while the victim uses her tiny hands to shield her head from incoming strikes on the floor.
The man can be heard barking aggressively at the child, uttering the popular Yoruba phrase “Ori ẹ o ma pe,” which translates to knocking sense into someone.
He then reaches down to forcefully yank the crying youngster back up to her feet.
The harrowing clip has triggered widespread condemnation across digital spaces, with netizens demanding immediate action and the culprit’s prompt arrest.
Addressing the viral incident, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) declared that acts of cruelty against minors will never be condoned.
NAPTIP stated, “We have noted the viral video and are working with relevant security agencies to identify, locate, and prosecute the perpetrator to the full extent of the law.”

It reiterated its firm commitment to child protection and ensuring that offenders face the full weight of justice.
