The family of Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, widely known as Toluwanisings, has officially announced his passing, throwing the gospel music community and fans into deep mourning.

According to an official statement published on the minister’s TikTok handle on Wednesday, the artist passed away in the early hours of October 14, 2026.

Reacting to the development on Instagram, Pelumi Olajengbesi, Convener of the Coalition of Public Interest Lawyers and Advocates, expressed heartbreak over the loss, writing, My God! What a life! No, Lord! We plead for Your mercy upon Toluwanisings.

Reflecting on the alarming rate of young deaths, Olajengbesi added, I am deeply troubled by the deaths of young men and women. This is not God’s plan for us.

Providing eyewitness accounts of the incident, an X user identified as Ennybets revealed that he was present at the hospital when the musician was rushed into the facility.
