A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has predicted an overwhelming landslide victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, attributing the projection to an expanding multi-party support base nationwide.
Kwankwaso, who serves as Director of Finance at the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, stated that the active participation of politicians from diverse opposition backgrounds in President Tinubu’s re-election movement signals a formidable coalition ahead of the polls.
Reacting to the recent inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, the Kano-born politician described the event as a major milestone indicating widespread acceptance of the administration’s trajectory.
Expressing confidence in the President’s standing, Kwankwaso remarked, To me, the inauguration of the Campaign Council is like a congregation celebrating the re-election of President Tinubu back to office. What else remains when the same Nigerians we are supposed to campaign for have collectively come forward in unison for one person—Tinubu?
He highlighted that the inclusion of political figures associated with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Labour Party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Accord Party would significantly reinforce the incumbent’s electoral chances.
Emphasizing the unprecedented nature of the cross-party alignment, he noted, It has never happened in Nigeria’s political history that one man could attract nearly all opposition parties, not only opposition politicians, but people who have never agreed to sit together yet, because of Tinubu, they have accepted to come on board and pursue a common goal.
According to Kwankwaso, the growing political alliance reflects mounting public and political confidence in President Tinubu’s economic reform agenda, which he believes will yield substantial success at the ballot box.
He also referenced positive assessments from Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo and other leaders regarding national economic policies, noting that their insights reflect a clear understanding of global economic realities.
The APC chieftain maintained that the 2027 contest should be viewed as an opportunity to consolidate economic recovery, arguing that despite current challenges, the President deserves a second term to complete ongoing structural reforms.
Focusing on Kano State politics, Kwankwaso expressed optimism that the national political alignment would translate locally, predicting that key political figures will unite to support Tinubu while endorsing a second term for Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his deputy, Murtala Sule Garo.
