Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has challenged all All Progressives Congress (APC) governors to actively deliver their respective states for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Wednesday during the high-profile inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja, Wike asserted that personal titles within the campaign structure hold no value unless state executives successfully secure victory at the polls.

Laying down strict expectations for party leadership, the FCT minister declared, If you don’t deliver your state and the president wins, don’t say we have won. It is not a question of I am chairman of this, I am secretary of this, I am a member of this.

Reaffirming his personal political commitment and pointing to infrastructural development as proof of governance impact, Wike stated that his domains are already secured for the incumbent president, noting, Rivers and FCT, it is taken. I challenge any area council that can say they don’t see the presence of Mr President.

Underscoring that accountability applies uniformly across board—even to the nation’s commercial capital—Wike revealed he had cautioned senior administration officials, adding, If you don’t deliver your state and the President win, don’t say we have won. I told the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, the other day that if the President did not win in Lagos, don’t say we have won.

The inauguration event also featured prominent attendance and backing from opposition figures such as Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, who publicly pledged vigorous grassroots mobilization toward securing President Tinubu’s second-term mandate.
