Her swearing-in occurred following President Tinubu’s return to Abuja on Friday from a brief work visit to France.

Tinubu arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport early Friday morning and cut his trip short to preside over the swearing-in at the Council Chambers in the State House.

Justice Kekere-Ekun will succeed Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who retired on Thursday at the age of 70.
Justice Ariwoola, who was appointed Chief Justice of Nigeria by former President Muhammadu Buhari on September 21, 2022, previously served as a Justice of the Court of Appeal in Kaduna, Enugu, and Lagos divisions before his elevation to the Supreme Court in 2011.
