Officers from the Department of State Services (DSS) have taken over the Abuja office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP).

SERAP has labeled this action as an ‘unlawful occupation’ in a statement shared on its X handle on Monday.

The officers are reportedly requesting a meeting with the organization’s directors.

SERAP has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the situation.

“President Tinubu must immediately direct the SSS to end the harassment, intimidation and attack on the rights of Nigerians,” SERAP urged.

This development comes less than 24 hours after SERAP urged President Tinubu to use his leadership and authority to direct the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited to swiftly reverse what it describes as an illegal and unconstitutional increase in the pump price of premium motor spirit (petrol) at its retail outlets.
