The division within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum (PDP GF) has intensified, reflecting ongoing tensions within the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) concerning the acting national chairman, Iliya Damagum.
Damagum, who was previously the PDP National Deputy Chairman (North), took on the role of acting National Chairman following the court suspension of the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.

Originating from Yobe State in the North-East, he is viewed as an ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

Governors Peter Mbah of Enugu and Dauda Lawal of Zamfara are taking a neutral stance amid this conflict.
