Naira Crashes Massively Against Dollar At Official Market

On Wednesday, the Naira depreciated at the official market, trading at N1,625.13 to the dollar.

According to data from the FMDQ Exchange, which oversees the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM), the Naira fell by N63.37, marking a 4.05 percent decline compared to Tuesday’s rate of N1,561.76 per dollar.

Additionally, the total daily turnover dropped to $170.6 million on Wednesday, down from $253.68 million recorded the previous day.

At the Investors’ and Exporters’ (I&E) window, the Naira traded within a range of N1,652 to N1,560 against the dollar.

Naira Appreciates On Tuesday At Official Market

The Naira appreciated by N73.39 at the official market on Tuesday, trading at N1,561.76 to the dollar, according to data from the FMDQ Exchange.

This marks a 4.48 per cent gain compared to Monday’s rate of N1,635.15 per dollar.

Additionally, the total daily turnover rose significantly to $253.68 million, up from $126.24 million recorded the previous day.

At the Investor and Exporter (I&E) window, the Naira fluctuated between N1,650 and N1,540 against the dollar.
