Kyari, represented by Mrs. Toyin Ayo-Ajayi, the State Director of the ministry, stated that several Federal Government agencies were monitoring the distribution to ensure transparency, fairness, and security.

The Minister emphasized that measures were in place to guarantee the rice reached the intended beneficiaries.

He noted that individuals only needed a National Identification Number (NIN) and an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card to purchase 50 kg of rice for N40,000.

โ€œHowever, I want to specifically applaud Gov. Dapo Abiodun for his commitment to the welfare of the citizens of the state.

โ€œOgun is one of the first set of states in Nigeria to enjoy the benefit and this can be attributed to the governorโ€™s tenacity and visionary leadership.

โ€œOgun has one of the most organised templates ensuring that this gets to the three Senatorial districts of the state and all at the grassroots,โ€ he said.

Kyari encouraged the state’s citizens to support the government in recognizing the efforts made by various levels of administration.

In his address, Governor Abiodun highlighted that President Bola Tinubu’s initiative demonstrated his commitment to addressing food inflation and enhancing the livelihoods of the people.

He expressed gratitude to the President for his steadfast support of the agricultural sector and efforts to ensure food security for all citizens.

โ€œThis is especially in the light of the present economic realities facing the nation.

โ€œGovernment has shown responsiveness, thoughtfulness.

โ€œThis is appreciated and welcomed, particularly following the removal of petroleum subsidy, as this will go a long way in cushioning the impact of the subsidy removal,โ€ the governor said
