Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has suspended the Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwalu Sankara, pending an investigation into allegations raised by the Kano State Hisbah.
Sankara was arrested by the Hisbah Board in an uncompleted building with a married woman, as confirmed by the board’s Director General, Dr. Abba Sufi, on Friday evening.

In a statement issued that night, Sankara denied the allegations, calling them false, baseless, and malicious.
He asserted that the accusations were a calculated effort to damage his reputation.
In contrast, the state government, through a statement from Malam Bala Ibrahim, Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, announced on Saturday that the suspension was necessary to facilitate a comprehensive investigation aimed at ensuring transparency and upholding the integrity of the state administration.
