Liverpool staged a thrilling comeback to defeat Brighton 2-1 at Anfield on Saturday, propelling them to the top of the Premier League, with Mohamed Salah’s spectacular winner sealing the victory.
Brighton had the upper hand in the first half, taking the lead through Ferdi Kadioglu’s brilliant strike, and the visitors could have extended their advantage but missed key chances.
The Reds, trailing at the break, saw their only real opportunity in the opening 45 minutes when Darwin Nunez’s solo run ended in a fine save by Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen.

After multiple attempts, Liverpool finally equalized with some luck as Cody Gakpo’s attempted cross flew into the net, sparking the crowd.
Just minutes later, Liverpool found the winner through Salah, who capitalized on a swift counter-attack, cutting in from the right to curl a stunning shot into the top corner.
Despite late pressure from Brighton, Liverpool held firm to secure three crucial points.
With both Manchester City and Arsenal dropping points elsewhere, the Reds took full advantage, now two points clear at the top of the table.
