Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has made changes to his cabinet, dismissing the Secretary to the State Government, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, the Commissioner for Information, and four other commissioners.
In a statement from his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor explained that these changes are part of a strategic political move aimed at implementing a more effective realignment within his administration.

Among those affected by the significant shake-up are the Chief of Staff, Alh. Shehu Wada Sagagi, whose position has been abolished, and the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, who was removed for health reasons.

Bature noted that the reshuffle included the removal of several cabinet members and the reassignment of others to improve administrative efficiency and political realignment.
The following officials have retained their positions: Barr. Haruna Isa Dederi (Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice), Dr. Danjuma Mahmoud (Commissioner for Agriculture), Dr. Abubakar Labaran (Commissioner for Health), Hon. Abduljabbar Mohammed Umar (Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning), Hon. Musa Suleiman Shannon (Commissioner for Budget and Planning), and Engr. Marwan Ahmad (Commissioner for Works and Housing).
Also remaining in office are Sefiyanu Hamza (Commissioner for Solid and Mineral Resources), Sheikh Ahmad Tijani Auwal (Commissioner for Religious Affairs), Hon. Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso (Commissioner for Youth and Sports), Adamu Aliyu Kibiya (Commissioner for Investment and Commerce), and Major General Mohammad Inuwa Idris (Rtd.), who continues as Commissioner for Internal Security and Special Services.
Several officials have been reassigned to new portfolios: Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdulssalam has been moved from the Ministry of Local Government to Higher Education; Hon. Mohammad Tajo Usman has been shifted from Science and Technology to the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; and Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar Mata moves from Higher Education to Science, Technology, and Innovation.
Additionally, Hon. Amina Abdullahi has been reassigned from Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation to the Ministry for Women, Children, and Disabled; Hon. Nasiru Sule Garo shifts from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to the Ministry of Special Duties. Hon. Ibrahim Namadi, formerly Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, is now in the Ministry of Transport, while Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, formerly of the Ministry of Education, moves to the Ministry of Water Resources.
Other reassigned commissioners include Hon. Ali Haruna Makoda (from Water Resources to the Ministry of Education), Hon. Aisha Lawal Saji (from the Ministry of Women, Children, and Disabled to Tourism and Culture), and Hon. Muhammad Diggol (from Transport to the Ministry of Project Monitoring and Evaluation).
Governor Yusuf has also dropped five members of his cabinet: Ibrahim Jibril Fagge (Finance), Ladidi Ibrahim Garko (Culture and Tourism), Baba Halilu Dantiye (Information and Internal Affairs), Shehu Aliyu Yammedi (Special Duties), and Abbas Sani Abbas (Rural and Community Development). These officials have been directed to report to the office of the Governor for possible reassignment.
