President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has cautioned Nigerians not to expect an immediate or “magical” solution to the country’s ongoing electricity challenges, emphasizing that the existing power infrastructure has been in place for decades.
During a visit by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Tinubu acknowledged the efforts of Siemens Energy in addressing the power crisis, noting that the company is “working very hard” to fulfill its commitments as part of a partnership.
However, he stressed that given the long-standing issues with the country’s power infrastructure, immediate results should not be anticipated.

This remark comes amid another collapse of Nigeria’s national grid on Wednesday, marking the 12th such incident in 2024. The President also outlined ongoing reforms aimed at creating a more business-friendly environment and attracting foreign investment to improve the nation’s infrastructure.
