The Anambra State Government has uncovered 35 graves at a well-known hotel in Oba, Idemili South local government area, which had been used for kidnapping and other criminal activities.
Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the Deputy Governor of the state, revealed that the graves, along with a shrine, were found on the top floor of the two-story Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites.
Leading the demolition team, Ibezim also reported the discovery of various disturbing items at the hotel, including a shrine and live bullets.

He emphasized that the Homeland Security Law, recently signed by the governor, has bolstered security operations in the state.
Under this law, any property found to be involved in criminal activities will not only be demolished but also seized by the state government.
A source at the scene noted that many of the hotel’s rooms were in disrepair, with spent bullet casings found in some of the rooms.
The hotel has now been demolished as part of the enforcement of the Homeland Security Law.
Ken Emeakyi, the Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Community Security, stated that the state government is committed to sustained efforts in fighting crime and criminality, not just a one-time action.
He urged the public to support the fight against crime and report any suspicious activities in their communities.
