Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State suspended three commissioners for one month due to unapproved absence from a state executive council meeting.
The suspended commissioners are Solomon Azi, Victor Chukwu, and Ikeuwa Omebe.
Information Commissioner Jude Okpor stated that the governor issued a warning against absenteeism and poor work ethic among public servants.
The suspended commissioners will lose all privileges of their offices during their suspension.

Governor Nwifuru also urged contractors to expedite project delivery, warning of legal action for non-compliance.
The council approved projects for the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Afikpo, including staff quarters, a female hostel, and a health clinic, aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope initiative.
Additionally, N40 million was approved for the Ministry of Water Resources to build a central water store.
The Victorious EBSU Faculty of Law Team, who won the 33rd Christof Heyns African Moot Court Competition, were recognized with the Ebonyi State Honour Awardees and received N5 million each.
The governor emphasized the importance of education and practical-based research in tertiary institutions.
